Today, we made conservation history for the Olympic Peninsula and its wild rivers and old growth forests.
Mere hours ago, Congressman Norm Dicks and Senator Patty Murray introduced landmark legislation that will protect the wild rivers and lush forests of the Olympic Peninsula.
Join us in thanking Congressman Dicks and Senator Murray for standing up for our majestic forests and rivers.
The Wild Olympics Wilderness and Wild and Scenic Rivers Act of 2012 will permanently protect over 126,000 acres of old-growth forests and create 19 new Wild and Scenic Rivers, preserving this amazing place for future generations.
Tell Congressman Dicks and Senator Murray “Thank You” today!
The legislation will protect critical salmon and steelhead habitat, and the rivers and streams that are vital to the health of Puget Sound. It will also safeguard the Olympic Peninsula’s world-class outdoor recreation opportunities like hiking, camping, hunting, and fishing, which also bolster local economies.
This victory is the product of years of public support by the majority of residents of the Peninsula as well as from people across the state. Your countless letters, signed petitions, and phone calls made the difference.
Send your message thanking Congressman Dicks and Senator Murray for protecting the Olympic Peninsula, its wildlife, and our way of life.
This is a giant leap forward for our wilderness and the legacy it provides for future generations.
Thank you for all you do for our Wild Olympics,
Ben Greuel
