Tradition … Voting

Dear Team Turner,Today, like every Election Day since my son was born, our family walked into our polling place together to cast our ballots in today’s election. That’s our family’s tradition. Even before Jeffery Jr. was old enough to walk or talk, my husband and I believed it was important to set the example and show our son that voting isn’t just a right–it is a civic duty.

We believed these experiences were critical not only because they taught him the importance of being engaged and involved in the community, but because our family believes there is nothing more American and no right more essential than making our voices heard through the ballot box.

In the past year, we have seen constant attacks on voting rights in our state. As extreme Ohio Republicans shamelessly work to silence the voices of thousands of their fellow Ohioans by restricting access to the ballot box and rolling back progress, the people of Ohio finally have the opportunity to say enough is enough! You deserve better, and the first step to achieving it is casting your vote.

Have you cast your ballot in the primary election? Polls are open today from 6:30 AM to 7:30 PM. There is still time.  Click here to Find out where your polling location is.

Franklin D. Roosevelt once said “Nobody will ever deprive the American people of the right to vote except the American people themselves and the only way they could do this is by not voting.”  That is why it is so important that this year and every year, every single one of you who is eligible cast your ballot and make your voice heard.

We are better together, and this democracy is stronger when everyone participates!
